Season 2008 Game 5: Rangers

Welcome to Shane Ruddick who had a great game at Right field and will certainly be a valuable addition to our list. It was great to have almost a full compliment of players to select from which provides much more flexibility throughout the Team.

We fought a close game against last year’s Premiership team, and narrowly lost 10-8. Despite this loss, we’re looking very strong — if we can eliminate some of the silly mistakes from inexperience we look like being a great finals contender.

It is understandable that we become frustrated when silly mistakes are made. The most important aspect is; discuss it, learn from the mistake, and eliminate it from our game. We must concentrate on the team concept and continue to talk to one another regarding improving our game.

Our coach John says, “There is no doubt in my mind we have the skills to be very competitive come finals time and a string of successes are just around the corner. Next week against the Pirates is a must win for us so we stay in touch with the top 4.”

Defence

The team is certainly improving every week in this area.

Best Player: Andy on the mound – 7 Hits, 3 Walks

Outfield: Frizz, ever-reliable Clint & our new recruit Shane. Well done guys.

Offence

We need to begin to think more regarding our base running and runners must try to keep their eye on the ball wherever possible and listen to base coaches.

Batting

A total of 13 Hits - not enough to win a game and certainly well below our capability.

Best Batting Brad 2 for 2 (1000) and Brett 3 for 5.

Our team photgrapher was away this week, so no photos.
